SHUTERS KEEPS THEIR PROMISES
Shuters are deeply committed to our Corporate Responsibility Programme, whereby 10c from each book sold within a specific time frame is donated to our Corporate Responsibility Fund.
Shuters' is particularly concerned with the devastating effect that HIV/AIDS is having on many young lives. Subsequently, our charities are organizations that assist local communities in educating children affected by HIV/AIDS.
Recently, the Shuter's Team visited some of our sponsored charities.

North West - The Naledi Life Skills Programme were given R16 4 17.30. This centre provides adult life skill training and HIV/AIDS information, support and care. The centre also has a clinic and a feeding scheme.

Mpumalanga - Philisani Home Based Care Group was given R44 267.80. The group assis ts child-headed households affected by HIV/AIDS by paying for school fees.

Gauteng - NOAH (Nurturing Orphans of AIDS for Humanity) was given R20 720.50. NOAH assists in the care of children orphaned as a result of AIDS. Their aim is to help these orphans mature into stable adults.

Free State - The Topsy Foundation was given R6 491.60. The foundation provides a community outreach programme to those infected and affected by HIV/AIDS by providing a school, clinic, home-based care, orphan care and a feeding scheme. The foundation also has sewing and beadwork programmes, which generate additional revenue for the community.
- Limpopo - Soutpansberg Community Development was given R38 895.90. The Programme assists households affected by HIV/AIDS with home-based care, food parcels and school fees.

KwaZulu Natal - Khayalethu C entre was given R98 339.40. The home is part of the Youth For Christ Programme in KZN and is a youth development agency addressing some of the needs of young people. The project serves homeless children around the city of Pietermaritzburg by: providing street based outreach through work teams, running short-term residential based home-care, providing aftercare service and developing community based prevention programmes in communities where children are at risk of moving to the streets.

Western Cape - HOKISA (Homes for Kids in South Africa) was given R9 706.10. The programme is an NGO and contributes in the fight against AIDS by creating examples of care especially for children. It is the aim of HOKISA to empower members of communities where HIV/AIDS is most devastating. Donations go directly to the projects for children, paid jobs are given to members of those communities.

Northern Cape - The Lesedi Community Programme was given R3 477.00. This community based project assists in educating children whose households have been affected by HIV/AIDS.

Eastern Cape - The House of Resurrection was given R18 559.00. The home is a centre that takes care of AIDS orphans.

Leading Indigenous Language and Educational publishers, Shuter & Shooter, held their Kwa-Zulu Natal Corporate Social Responsibility Handover on Friday 13th November. Shuters donate 10c from every book sold towards their Social Responsibility AIDS Initiative Programme every year. These funds are allocated to various charities in the different provinces to assist our disadvantaged youth with their learning needs.
