G. R. Dent developed the love of the isiZulu language at an early age. Growing up in Nongoma in Zululand, he learned to speak the isiZulu language fluently. He holds Masters Degrees in Science and Education.

Prof. CLS Nyembezi is a famous writer of isiZulu books and an acclaimed lexicographer. After studying and lecturing at Wits University, he became Professor of African Languages at Fort Hare University. He later joined Shuter & Shooter Publishers as Chief Editor of African Languages and was a director of Shuter & Shooter until his retirement.
